Ibn Tofail University President Participates in the Launch of the National Strategy for Open Educational Resources and Open Science

On October 22, the President of Ibn Tofail University took part in the official launch ceremony of the National Strategy for Open Educational Resources and Open Science, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering collaboration, innovation, and accessibility in Morocco’s academic and scientific communities.

The event, held in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, as well as the Director of UNESCO’s Maghreb Office, marked a significant milestone in advancing open science and knowledge-sharing practices across the nation.

A Vision for Open Science

The National Strategy for Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Science seeks to promote unrestricted access to educational and scientific materials, fostering inclusivity and democratizing knowledge. This initiative aligns with global efforts championed by UNESCO to build a culture of collaboration and transparency in research and education.

The Minister of Higher Education emphasized the importance of this strategy, stating, “Open science and education are essential pillars for innovation and sustainable development. This initiative will empower researchers, educators, and students to contribute to and benefit from a global pool of knowledge.”
