Event : 16 January 2025
Partner : Attijariwafa Bank Foundation – Ibn Tofail University
In an era marked by climate change, rapid urbanization, and environmental degradation, Ibn Tofail University is proud to host the second edition of the national multidisciplinary competition “Imagine Ta Ville” (Imagine Your City). Launched in collaboration with the Attijariwafa Bank Foundation, a prominent cultural and educational initiative of one of Morocco’s leading financial institutions, this program goes beyond a mere art contest. It serves as a platform for students to engage deeply and artistically with the spaces they inhabit, envisioning cities where sustainability, inclusion, and creativity are not only possible but essential.

This competition offers students a unique opportunity to become visionary designers of their environment, not with concrete or blueprints, but through color, shape, sound, and story Through it, students are encouraged to wield that hammer, crafting and conveying meaningful messages about their aspirations for a greener, more resilient Morocco. Whether reimagining urban corners or preserving natural landscapes through innovation, their creations serve as visual calls to action.
The significance of this initiative is amplified by the collaboration between two seemingly disparate fields: finance and art. The partnership between Ibn Tofail University and Attijariwafa Bank Foundation exemplifies the powerful impact that can arise when education and the corporate sector unite for a common mission, supporting youth and advocating for sustainability. It reflects a shared belief that future cities should be built not only on infrastructure but also on culture, empathy, and creativity.
The competition is open to all students of Ibn Tofail University and encompasses a wide range of categories, ensuring accessibility for all creative voices. Participants can choose from: Video/Animation, Photography, Digital Drawing/NFT, Augmented or Virtual Reality, Video Games/Application, and Classical Visual Arts such as Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. This multidisciplinary approach allows students to explore their talents using either modern technologies or traditional forms, each offering a unique way to visualize environmental awareness and transformation.
“Imagine Ta Ville” goes beyond being a creative outlet; it also offers tangible rewards. Four winners will be selected by a jury of experts and will receive financial prizes, along with the opportunity to exhibit their work nationally. This public recognition not only validates the power of student expression but also helps participants take their first steps into the professional world of artistic and environmental advocacy. In a society often overwhelmed by words, these visual creations can communicate more powerfully, shifting perspectives, awakening emotions, and prompting action.
Ultimately, this initiative aims to uncover the artistic potential within the walls of Ibn Tofail University and provide a platform for those visions to flourish. It seeks to identify the creative thinkers and problem-solvers of tomorrow, those whose drawings, designs, or digital works carry the seeds of innovation, compassion, and resilience. After all, art reflects who we are and who we aspire to become. The cities we inhabit begin as ideas; through this competition, students are invited not only to imagine those ideas but also to bring them to life vividly.
By embracing “Imagine Ta Ville,” Ibn Tofail University reaffirms its commitment to nurturing creativity, supporting national culture, and championing sustainable development. This competition stands as a testament to how art can transcend aesthetics and serve as a powerful tool for change, ensuring that the voices of young creators are not only heard but also celebrated.
