Not all learning takes place in traditional classrooms. Sometimes, it begins with a spark, an idea, a sketch, a moving image.
From May 19 to 22, 2025, INNOV’ART WEEK transformed Ibn Tofail University’s CODE 212 center into a vibrant space of exploration, learning, and artistic exchange. This four-day event brought together professionals, students, and international experts to celebrate creativity in its digital form, through animation, design, and video games.

Organized by the Center of Excellence in Design and Applied Art, in partnership with the French Institute of Morocco and FICAM, the event offered participants a unique opportunity to engage directly with prominent figures in the creative industries.

The program featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and personal journeys. Among them was Claude Barras, the acclaimed Swiss director whose talk emphasized the emotional depth and narrative power of animation.

Cédric Babouche, a renowned French illustrator and animator, guided the audience through the process of turning illustrations into moving stories, offering insight into the creative decisions behind each frame.

From Morocco, Yassine Lahrichi, founder of Neverseen Production, presented a live session titled “Work in Progress: video games ,” providing a behind-the-scenes look at video game development and highlighting the growing role of Moroccan talent in the global creative scene.

Throughout the week, INNOV’ART offered a variety of engaging sessions, including film screenings, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Each element of the program aimed to encourage innovation, expand artistic horizons, and connect students with industry realities. This initiative reflects Ibn Tofail University’s ongoing efforts to support interdisciplinary learning and to integrate art and technology into its academic vision.

As INNOV’ART WEEK concluded, it left behind more than memories. It inspired a renewed appreciation for digital art as a field of study, a form of expression, and a driver of economic and cultural development. For many participants, the event opened new perspectives and offered concrete paths to pursue careers in creative industries, proving that when education meets inspiration, lasting change becomes possible.
