Ibn Tofail University Students Shine at the Rabat National University Film Festival

Students from the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Humanities at Ibn Tofail University earned distinguished honors at the inaugural edition of the Rabat National University Film Festival, held from May 28 to 30, 2025, at Mohammed V University.

The Grand Prize was awarded to the short film “وصايا قط جائع” (“Instructions from a Hungry Cat”), co-directed by four master’s students from the Scriptwriting and Directing program at the Media and Communication Center: Houssam Loukili, Mohammed Oulhaj, Salah Eddine Belboudali, and Aya Jabrane.

Additionally, Nabila Edou Jdid, also a master’s student, received the Best Directing Award for her animated film “عوينة لعقيق” (“Aouina Laaqiq”), which shared the prize with “Card Game” by Souhail El Youkadi.

From the Creative Writing and Cinema Excellence Program, student Hiba El Watiq earned a Special Jury Mention, while several other students presented previously showcased films—most notably “طيف زماكان” (“Zamakan’s Ghost”) by Karim Tajouaout, acclaimed for its exceptional writing and direction.

These awards highlight Ibn Tofail University’s dedication to nurturing creative talent and promoting artistic excellence within its academic community through the Media and Communication Center.
