The Higher School of Technology (EST) of Ibn Tofail University successfully hosted on May 16th the Scientific Day in Economics and Management (JSEG 2026), bringing together researchers, academics, and doctoral students from various Moroccan universities for a day of rich scientific exchange and scholarly discussion.
Held under the theme “Economic Science in the Service of Sustainable Development and Innovation,” the event provided a dynamic platform for presenting and discussing current research addressing economic, managerial, and societal challenges in a rapidly changing world. The scientific program featured more than 43 research presentations, organized across four parallel workshops, covering a wide range of topics related to economics, management, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and public policy.
The event fostered interdisciplinary dialogue and encouraged the sharing of innovative ideas and research findings that contribute to sustainable development and evidence-based decision-making. Through constructive discussions and networking opportunities, participants explored how economic sciences can support inclusive growth, innovation, and societal transformation.
A key highlight of the day was a thematic workshop entitled “Design and Qualitative Research Methodology: Foundations and Processes,” led by Professor Aimad El Hajri, researcher and faculty member at Moulay Ismail University. The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into qualitative research design, methodological rigor, data collection techniques, and analytical approaches, strengthening researchers’ capacities in conducting high-quality scientific investigations.
By bringing together scholars from diverse academic backgrounds, JSEG 2026 reaffirmed Ibn Tofail University’s commitment to promoting scientific excellence, research collaboration, and knowledge sharing. The event also highlighted the university’s role as a hub for academic dialogue and innovation, fostering research that addresses pressing economic and societal challenges.
The themes discussed throughout the day directly contribute to the achievement of several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 4 through research capacity building and academic training, SDG 8 through the promotion of sustainable economic development, SDG 9 through innovation-oriented research, and SDG 17 by strengthening collaboration among researchers and institutions across Morocco.
JSEG 2026 stands as a testament to the power of scientific research and academic cooperation in advancing sustainable development and generating innovative solutions for the challenges of tomorrow.
