National Seminar on “Sport for All: A Lever for Development and Economic Growth”

Initiated by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sport for All, in cooperation with Ibn Tofail University, this seminar, held on May 16, 2023, brought together a distinguished group of researchers and sports experts, along with representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM), the Economic and Social Council, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration, and national sports federations.

This academic and sporting event tackled several themes, including “What Sports Policy for a Modernizing Morocco,” “The Reality of Sport for All through the Presentation of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sport for All,” “School Sports Serving Students,” “The Role of Universities in Sports: A New Societal Need,” and “Sport as a Lever for Psychosocial Resilience.”

The seminar also addressed other significant topics such as “Public Policies for Sports Management in Morocco,” “Physical Activity in the Face of Digitalization: A Trend Towards New Physical Practices for Health and Well-being,” “Sports in Penitentiaries as a Pillar for Rehabilitation and Reintegration,” “The Economics of Sport: Realities and Challenges,” and “Sport for All: An Economic Lever and Catalyst for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.”

The theme of the seminar, focusing on the inclusive nature of sports and its broad benefits, aims to promote well-being for all at all ages. By emphasizing “Sport for All,” the seminar highlights the critical role of physical activity in promoting health and preventing disease. Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining physical health, improving mental well-being, and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. These benefits include improved educational outcomes, enhanced social cohesion, and better integration and rehabilitation of marginalized groups.
