In 2023, Ibn Tofail University launched its first Alternating Training Programs as part of the ESRI Pact, which seeks to enhance graduates’ employability by integrating academic knowledge with industry experience. The initiative began at the Higher School of Technology (EST) with two programs: a Professional Bachelor’s in “Insurance Techniques and Advice” in partnership with AXA Assurance Rabat, and a DUT in “Industrial Quality” in partnership with HIRSCHMANN AUTOMOTIVE Kenitra. These programs enroll 28 students annually and aim to bridge the gap between university education and the professional world.
This project is of paramount importance and allows for:
- Strengthening Teachers’ Skills: This project aims to provide teachers with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to deliver quality education tailored to students’ needs and in line with current socio-economic challenges.
- Improving the Quality of Education: By enhancing teachers’ skills, the project directly contributes to improving the quality of education provided in Moroccan schools. Better-trained teachers are able to adopt innovative and effective teaching practices, resulting in improved student performance.
- Integration of Citizenship and Civil Responsibility Concepts: By focusing on teacher training in citizenship and civil responsibility, the project aims to promote values such as respect for human rights, social justice, democracy, and civic participation. This helps to educate engaged and responsible citizens capable of making positive contributions to society.
- Embracing Linguistic Diversity: The project also encourages the teaching and learning of linguistic diversity, which is essential in a multilingual country like Morocco. By valuing and teaching different languages, teachers can promote inclusion and strengthen the sense of belonging among students from various linguistic communities.
