The president of Ibn Tofail University Professor Mohamed Larbi Kerkeb alongside with Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament, the government spokesperson, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, the President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, the President of the National Observatory for Human Development, With over 500 participants, including officials from national and international institutions, specialists, academics, and civil society activists were all present at the third national forum for associations in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region on the topic of “Scientific Research in the Service of Civil Society”.The event happened on November 8th, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco’s capital city.





In order to explore and discuss all potential ways for Moroccan universities, through research centers and laboratories, to contribute to the production, enhancement, and valuation of data related to the associative field in our nation, this forum has established a space for open dialogue and discussion among a variety of participants, including associations, representatives of government sectors, public institutions, Moroccan universities, the private sector, international partners, experts, and specialists.
In an analogous speech, Azeddine Medaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, emphasized the significance of hosting this forum in an era marked by swift economic and social advancement, given that combining scientific research and associative work is a useful strategy for bolstering the national economy and tackling developmental obstacles. He affirmed that this integration is in line with the royal orders to strengthen the role of civil society in the accomplishment of significant national initiatives and commended Ibn Tofail University for its commitment to enhancing this discussion.
Ibn Tofail University was well-represented at this meeting and made significant contributions to the discussion on the need of cooperation between institutions and associations by presenting its research and studies. Additionally, it participated in the associated exhibition, which had several pavilions where partners may display reports and intellectual and scientific achievements related to the associative space.
