Ibn Tofail University

Founded by Dahir n° 1.89.144 of 23 October 1989, Ibn Tofail University (UIT) is a multidisciplinary public institution located in the Maâmora Forest in Kenitra, serving more than 60,000 students, 822 professors, and 420 administrative staff across 11 higher-education establishments, including both regulated-access and open-access faculties to guarantee fair entry for all learners. Guided by the Moroccan Higher Education Law n° 01-00, the Constitution’s principles of equality and non-discrimination, and a strong social mission, UIT ensures equitable access to higher education for students from low-income backgrounds through tuition-free enrolment, subsidised housing, low-cost meals, transportation support, scholarships, and the AMO student health insurance system. The university promotes inclusion for all, welcoming international students from more than 65 countries and supporting 102 students with disabilities through dedicated services and adapted learning environments. Management Bodies at Ibn Tofail University

As a public university in Morocco, Ibn Tofail University is governed by its own University Council. This council comprises appointed and elected members, in accordance with the principle of parity. Among these members, a management board has been set up to handle administrative and financial matters.

In addition, the University Council is responsible for setting up permanent committees and, if necessary, ad hoc committees, in accordance with article 14 of Dahir no. 1-00-199 (May 19, 2002) promulgating Law no. 01-00 on the organization of higher education.
