Event: 25 May 2026
On May 25, 2026, ANIR Club of Ibn Tofail University carried out Basma Al Eid, a solidarity initiative organized ahead of Eid Al-Adha to support families in need and help preserve the smile of Eid. The action was preceded by a donation call, through which the club invited contributors to take part in making this initiative possible. Thanks to this collective effort, dozens of sheep were distributed to families who needed support during this important religious occasion.
The initiative was guided by a clear and respectful purpose. Families who do not have the means to buy a sheep are not defined by that difficulty, nor are they forced to carry a burden beyond their capacity. However, they deserve to be part of the smile that Eid brings. Basma Al Eid was created from this understanding: to help families experience the occasion with dignity, peace, and the comforting feeling that they are remembered by their community.
Eid Al-Adha is a sacred moment rooted in faith, gratitude, and compassion. It is not reduced to the act of sacrifice itself, nor to what is placed on the table. Its deeper meaning lies in sincerity, piety, generosity, and care for others. In this spirit, the initiative turned the values of Eid into a concrete act of support, where giving became a way to protect dignity rather than display charity.
Particular care was given to the quality of what was offered. The members of ANIR Club did their best to select good sheep, with the same attention and responsibility they would have shown if they were choosing them for their own families. This detail gave the initiative a stronger human value, because the aim was not merely to distribute, but to offer support with respect, consideration, and sincerity.
The impact of Basma Al Eid was especially meaningful for children. Eid often lives in a child’s memory through small but powerful moments: the atmosphere at home, the joy of preparation, the feeling of belonging, and the happiness shared with family. By supporting households before Eid, the initiative helped protect these moments and allowed children to experience the occasion with joy rather than lack or disappointment.
Beyond the immediate support, Basma Al Eid carried a wider message about community life. Anyone can face hardship, and difficult moments become lighter when people stand together. With help, compassion, and a shared sense of responsibility, families are not only supported; they are also encouraged to pass kindness forward when they are able to do so. Solidarity creates a chain in which today’s beneficiary can become tomorrow’s source of support.
