Social Responsibility at Ibn Tofail University

Through this charter, we affirm our dedication to promoting solidarity, equity and sustainability at every level of the university.

Academic Freedom
The Charter guarantees academic freedom, including freedom of expression, independent research, autonomy in teaching, and protection of researchers’ right to speak publicly about their expertise.
Equal Access for All
UIT ensures equal access to all activities regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age or immigration status. The Charter commits the university to inclusive access and fair participation.
Anti-Discrimination
The Charter explicitly rejects all forms of discrimination and affirms equality of opportunity across campus life, covering identity, culture, beliefs, gender and personal background.
Anti-Harassment & Respectful Environment
The Charter promotes a respectful and safe environment and commits UIT to preventing harassment and ensuring ethical behaviour among all members of the community.

Workplace Equality

Ending Workplace Discrimination
UIT condemns discrimination in employment based on religion, gender, age, identity or other personal attributes, promoting a safe and equitable professional environment.
Commitment Against Forced Labour & Modern Slavery
The Charter reinforces ethical principles rejecting exploitation, coercion, modern slavery, child labour and any practice violating human dignity and fundamental rights.
Rights of Outsourced Workers
UIT affirms that all individuals working within the university ecosystem, including outsourced staff, must receive fair treatment, respect and equivalent rights aligned with human dignity.
Pay Scale Equity & Gender Pay Gap
The Charter supports equity in all institutional practices, including fairness in salaries and the commitment to reducing inequalities such as gender-based pay gaps.
Labour Rights: Association & Collective Bargaining
The Charter respects labour rights including freedom of association, collective participation and the right of staff—including women and international workers—to organise.
