On 4 April 2026, students from El Pincel, the artistic club of ENCG Kenitra at Ibn Tofail University, carried out a mural-painting initiative at Attayssir Primary School. The activity renewed classrooms and shared areas through art, transforming plain surfaces into colourful and visually engaging spaces for pupils.
Working collectively, the students prepared and painted walls with compositions featuring flowers, animals, rainbows, natural elements, geometric shapes and other playful illustrations. Classrooms were also decorated with colourful forms and characters familiar to children, incorporating elements of their interests and imagination into their everyday learning spaces.
The intervention gave previously undecorated areas a new visual character. Through colour, drawings and child-friendly imagery, ordinary walls became surfaces for creative expression. The resulting murals added warmth and visual interest to the surroundings while giving art a more prominent place in pupils’ daily experience.
Creating the murals involved preparing the surfaces, organizing materials, developing the designs and translating them into large-scale compositions. Working together throughout the process enabled the participating students to apply their artistic abilities to a concrete project and see their ideas develop into a lasting contribution.
The result was a more colourful and expressive setting, shaped around imagery associated with childhood. Familiar characters, animals and imaginative forms can make educational spaces more inviting and engaging, while the murals introduce creativity into places that pupils encounter throughout the day.
The initiative also gave El Pincel members an opportunity to turn artistic practice into a tangible form of community engagement. Rather than remaining within a university workshop or temporary exhibition, their work became part of an educational space used daily by younger learners. The completed murals therefore represent both a visible transformation of the setting and a lasting expression of the students’ creativity, collaboration and practical involvement.
