Ibn Tofail University Hosted a Cultural Exhibition Honoring Centuries of Moroccan Resistance

From February 17 to 28, 2025, the Ibn Tofail University Library hosted an extraordinary historical and cultural exhibition titled “Epic of Resistance,” offering visitors a powerful journey through Morocco’s resistance movements against Portuguese, Spanish, and French colonization between the 15th and 20th centuries.

The event showcased a rich collection of archival documents, artworks, and oral histories, shedding light on the courageous struggles that helped shape the nation’s identity and independence.

The exhibition brought together historians, students, and members of the public who explored rarely seen documents, portraits of key figures, and immersive storytelling that highlighted regional and national resistance movements.

Among the highlights were:

  • Manuscripts and letters documenting anti-colonial efforts
  • Paintings and photographs illustrating moments of defiance and resilience
  • Storyboards and interactive displays recounting the bravery of Moroccan freedom fighters

This initiative formed part of the university’s broader goal to foster historical awareness and cultural pride within the academic community and beyond.
