Ibn Tofail University Participates in International Workshop on Advancing Sustainability in Higher Education at Atatürk University, Erzurum, Turkey

From September 8 to 10, 2025, Atatürk University in Erzurum, Turkey, hosted an international workshop dedicated to promoting sustainability in higher education institutions. The event brought together university leaders, researchers, and students from across different countries to share innovative approaches and successful practices that advance the global sustainability agenda within academia.

The objective of the workshop was to encourage concrete actions that strengthen sustainability efforts in universities. It provided a collaborative platform for participants to exchange experiences, develop partnerships, and identify new strategies to integrate sustainability into teaching, research, campus management, and community engagement. By fostering cooperation between institutions, the workshop aimed to accelerate the transition towards greener, more sustainable higher education systems, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Partnerships for the Goals.

Representing Ibn Tofail University (Kenitra, Morocco), Prof. Saida El Mendili, Director of the Scientific Production Support Center, participated actively in the discussions and exchanges. Her participation underscored the university’s strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and international collaboration. Through its ongoing environmental initiatives and sustainable campus development projects, Ibn Tofail University continues to position itself as a key regional actor in advancing the global sustainability agenda.

The workshop concluded with a shared vision among participants to continue building stronger partnerships, enhance institutional practices, and promote sustainability-oriented education that prepares future generations to lead the transformation toward a more sustainable world.
