Description of the plant
The compact wastewater treatment plant will have a capacity of 180 m3/d and will treat suspended solids (SS), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD5) to produce water that complies with the requirements for discharge into the receiving environment (River) from the village’s liquid wastewater network.
This plant is designed to treat a daily water flow of 180 m3/d, with COD, BOD5 and TSS concentrations of 800 mg/l, 400 mg/l and 450 mg/l, respectively, using a low-load SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) process to separate the treated water from the mixed liquor. This will ensure optimized treatment yields and water quality that meets discharge standards into the natural environment (River), following the following steps:
- Pre-treatment: removal of oil, grease, and sand at the lifting station.
- Biological treatment: Aeration/settling at the compact unit with a capacity of 180 m3/d.
Avantages of the compact unit
- Smaller footprint, reduced surface area;
- High purification efficiency;
- Optimized investment;
- Wide range of process management and operating modes;
- A treatment method that complies with current standards;
- A plant adaptable to peak flows;
- A plant able to withstand fluctuating ground loads;
- Easy system maintenance.
