🥗 Restauration

Ibn Tofail University (UIT) has an ongoing institutional programme to address student food insecurity and promote well-being through its University Restaurant and Social Support Programme, implemented in collaboration with the National Office for University, Social and Cultural Services (ONOUSC).
This programme ensures continuous access to nutritious, affordable meals throughout the academic year, benefiting more than 26,000 students annually.
It also includes awareness activities promoting healthy and sustainable food habits among the student community.

Dining Services

Dining services at Ibn Tofail University are managed by the National Office for University Social and Cultural Services (ONOUSC), which provides affordable meals specifically tailored to students’ budgets. In university dining halls, a full meal costs 1.40 MAD (approximately $0.14). Students have the option of two meals per day, lunch and dinner.

Meals are not served on Sundays or public holidays. The dining halls are open to students at the following times:

Lunch: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dinner: from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

As part of this programme, UIT provides two daily subsidised meals — lunch and dinner — for 1.40 MAD each, from Monday to Saturday.
During special periods such as Ramadan, the university also organises free meal distributions for resident students, ensuring food access for all, regardless of financial situation.

ONOUSC adopted the outsourcing of dining services, a process that was fully implemented across all university dining facilities in 2017. Menus are crafted by professional caterers, offering a variety of options and balanced meals.

ONOUSC has established a policy focused on hygiene and food quality in university dining halls, implementing measures to enhance student dining services and improve student satisfaction.

First Initiative: Developing a guide of best sanitary practices for dining facilities.
Second Initiative: Implementing a training program for hygiene and food quality supervisors designated for each university dining hall, even with outsourced services.

It should be noted that Ibn Tofail University has installed drinking water fountains accessible to everyone on campus, available for students as well as academic and administrative staff in all university facilities. These water points are placed in high-traffic areas (cafeterias, libraries, and restrooms), with 11 electric filtered fountains located within administrative and academic buildings.

University Restaurant

The university restaurant at Ibn Tofail University is managed in partnership with the National Office for University and Social Services (ONOUSC). Its primary goal is to provide university students with affordable access to quality meals. The meals served are known for their variety, nutritional balance, and low cost, set at only 1.40 dirhams.

The restaurant offers two meals per day, covering the main times: lunch and dinner. Each meal includes a choice of three courses: an appetizer, a main dish, and a dessert. Emphasis is placed on using fresh, local ingredients in meal preparation to provide tasty and healthy cuisine.

The university promotes sustainable and environmentally responsible food choices.
Menus are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and include daily vegetarian and vegan options such as lentil dishes, vegetable tagines, and fresh salads. These practices support local suppliers and contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of campus dining.

The kitchen team is composed of qualified professionals who prepare meals on-site, ensuring freshness. This on-site preparation approach also allows for menu adjustments based on the dietary preferences and nutritional needs of the university community.

The university restaurant is a friendly place where students can gather to share a balanced meal at an affordable price. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to student well-being and aims to support their academic success by ensuring access to quality food throughout their studies.
