Supporting Families During Ramadan: ANIR Distributes 300 Food Baskets in Taza

Event: 15 March 2026

Behind every humanitarian initiative lies a simple objective: to ease, even temporarily, some of the difficulties faced by vulnerable communities. On 15 March 2026, the ANIR Club of Ibn Tofail University carried out the first phase of its humanitarian mission in the commune of Ghiata Al Gharbiya, in the province of Taza, through the distribution of 300 food baskets to families experiencing challenging socio-economic conditions.

Implemented in partnership with Carrefour LabelVie, the initiative sought to provide practical support during the month of Ramadan. The baskets contained a selection of essential food items commonly found in Moroccan households, allowing beneficiaries to prepare complete meals for their families throughout the holy month. While such assistance cannot address every challenge these households face, it can help alleviate part of the daily burden and contribute to greater food security during this period.

The operation brought together ANIR’s student volunteers, who participated in the preparation, transportation, and distribution of the baskets. Beyond the logistical effort, the initiative offered students an opportunity to engage directly with local communities and translate values of civic responsibility into concrete action.

This first achievement marks the beginning of a broader humanitarian journey led by ANIR. Through initiatives of this nature, the club continues to demonstrate how student engagement can contribute to addressing local needs while fostering stronger connections between the university and the communities it serves.
